Ampang Tasek Medical service – Nov 17, 2013

Posted on 24th November 2013
As part of a new ongoing initiative to link MMK member churches directly with local refugee communities, MMK facilitated another medical service visit to a refugee enclave in Ampang Tasek, near KL.

An earlier medical service, in October, had been successfully completed in Ampang Hilir by Elim Evangelical Church.

This time a team of 3 doctors and 3 nurses, plus registrars from Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church (EFC), City Harvest Church and Sungai Way Subang Methodist Church (SSMC) attended to a mix of (mainly) Bangaldeshi and Myanmar Rohingan refugees.

Over the course of about 3 hours, the team painstakingly ministered to a over 70 individual patients including women and children.

The hope is that the churches supporting this visit will maintain direct contact with these communities, and build closer relationships with them; thus allowing MMK to re-focus it’s limited resources on other equally-needy refugee groups.
